Dear German Ringtennis players and friends
Südafrikanischer Dankesbrief zur WM2010 kam gestern in Deutschland an:
30 August 2010
We have been back in South Africa for three weeks now and we have almost settled back into our normal routine…. or so I think! Returning from Germany (and this has been my 5th time) has always been one of the saddest and most difficult things to do and this time was no exception!
I would like to use this opportunity to say: Vielen, vielen Dank to many, many people: Gunthard Kissinger for your help with the supporters and rings; Roland Funk for the arrangements in Munich; Reinhard and Katharina for all your patience with all our inquiries, and for the lovely days with you and your club members in Recklinghausen; Barbara Ams, Nicci and all the friendly people of Neuwied for the nice, relaxing days in your town; the drivers of the busses who transported us (and our very heavy suitcases!); each and every personin Koblenz who had something to do with the excellent organisation and presentation of the Championships themselves; the volunteers who did so much to make the play schedule run smoothly; the cooks who prepared the lovely meals; Ilka and Kerstin for all the shopping that you did for us and with us and Tobias and Katrin for all your help to our supporters. We appreciate every bit of work that you all put in, tremendously!
And now, here in South Africa, we have already started with the planning of World Champs 2014! Four years sound like an awfully long time, but it goes by like the wink of an eye, (we saw that with the World Cup Soccer). We would soooo much like to see all of you then.
To all of you who take part in the German Championships in September, we would like to say good luck; may your games be “frisch , fromm , frohlich und frei!”
Once more then, I would like to say: Die Weltmeistershaft war ein klasse Erlebnis. Die vergisst Man sicherlich nicht schnell und wir vermissen alle sehr viel !
